what our clients are saying…

I started working with Andrea in the early days of COVID, when she was offering outdoor classes on her private pilates deck. Desperately in need of  some exercise and stress relief, and inspired by her calm and creative instruction, it took very little time for me to inquire about private sessions, and I’m so grateful I did.

Every session with Andrea is unique, imaginative, and fun. She takes the time to understand my needs and preferences, and her warmth and sense of humor carry me through even the most challenging exercises. She has pushed me to find muscles in my body that I never knew I had!

I feel stronger and more centered as a result, and because of her, a regular pilates practice is now an integral part of my mental and physical well-being.

I have been practicing pilates for about six years but not until I started sessions at Bodies & Plants with Andrea did I really grow to love it. Andrea keeps the sessions fresh, varied, and fun!

When I started working with her she reviewed my goals for doing Pilates (which are to strengthen my core to allow me to avoid injury in the other fitness things I do - running and cycling). She keeps that goal in mind every week and really helps me to focus on exercises that help me stabilize my core and keep back pain at bay. Also when new tightness or little tweaks emerge she gives me options for muscle release and exercises that really help.

I am so grateful to have her in Livingston Manor!

Andrea is an amazing Pilates instructor! She is knowledgeable, well prepared & very motivating. I have a less than athletic body type and was nervous to attend my first Pilates class. Now, I look forward to class every week.

The beautiful boutique style studio is welcoming and allows me to  leave my worries at the door and take some time to focus on myself. Andrea’s instructions are easy to follow and each class has new and varied exercises that flow together beautifully.

Since practicing Pilates with Andrea I am stronger and I have better balance and mobility. After class my mood is lighter and I sleep more soundly.  I appreciate this great space and practice that Andrea has created for us to grow.

I did pilates casually for a couple years before doing it on a regular basis with Andrea and she has made me fall in love with it!

Andrea does an incredible job of making each session feel approachable and challenging at the same time... while also correcting any imbalance that I'm feeling in my body. Now that I'm a few years in, I'm constantly surprised at what my body can do. it is honestly shocking the strength and muscle tone I've built working with her.

Andrea is such an attentive teacher—I feel like she really knows my body... and because of this, I get so much out of every session with her. I always leave a session with Andrea feeling satisfied, strong and rebalanced.

-REBECCA

My pilates practice, something I wouldn't believe would be a part of my life a few years ago, has helped me rid my life of chronic back pain and feel more capable in my every day life. Andrea has taught me to listen to my body and know when I need a stretch or a harder workout, although her classes seem to miraculously be the right combination of the two. She has also helped me to see "wellness" as more than just weight loss or looking a certain way- it's really about how I feel.

I can't stress enough that there are offerings for ALL levels and that there is no reason to be intimidated by pilates when you're in the right hands!

With Bodies & Plants, Andrea has created a beautiful and welcoming space centered around movement, growth, and self-care. Through regular springboard classes, I have toned my physique and built core strength and stamina that support the physical demands of my ceramics studio work, "mom life," gardening, and even desk work.

Every class seems to strip away the tension and stiffness from the week and leaves me feeling open, strong, and limber. The studio has been a true refuge during the pandemic—a beautiful place to spend time, surrounded by plants and good energy, taking care of my body and connecting with lovely local folks.

Pilates has been something I’ve wanted to try for a long time, and especially as I’ve gotten older. My body can no longer handle high impact activities, but sitting at a desk all week was taking its toll. I started classes with Andrea over a year ago and it was the best decision! Each week is a new variety, all contributing to my body being stronger, more flexible and agile, and she’s always mindful to any areas that might be sensitive.

Andrea is not only an expert in her craft, she’s also approachable, kind, and funny. And, she has a great plant game!

-Becca

When I first came to Andrea I had such bad lower back pain that I could hardly sit for more than a few minutes at a time without having to adjust my position or stand up. I had been in pain for months and was pretty demoralized. I was also terrified that any sort of exercise that I might try, might actually make the situation worse.

From my very first meeting with Andrea, her calm confidence and reassurance that she could help me, changed my entire outlook. within a few private sessions, my back pain had substantially subsided and has only continued to get better with each passing week. When I think back to where I started, and where I am now, it's hard to believe.

We are so fortunate to have such a skilled pilates instructor in our community of Livingston Manor.  Andrea truly understands my individual needs and is prepared for every session, she keeps the sessions feeling fresh and new each time.

I have worked with a couple of other instructions from Bodies & Plants and although their approach is different they are also well prepared and knowledgeable.

I have had some injuries which Andrea has guided me through and I feel stronger and more grounded than I have in 20 years.  Andrea has improved my overall health both physically and mentally.

I began taking classes at Bodies & Plants at the start of the pandemic, first by Zoom and then in person. I am not certain I would have made it through the past two years without Andrea's guidance, consistency, methods to relieve stress, and exercises to build strength.

I can always find her via Zoom, but whenever I am able, I rush to book studio classes. I swear Andrea's studio has the best air in the Catskills with her collection of lush plants. Her studio clears my mind, relaxes my body and offers me a chance to socialize with some of the kindest, funniest people around. I always feel welcomed and wanted there, especially valuable feelings with the isolation of the pandemic.
